This explains what happens to information you give us, and what we collect by ourselves. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Who we are
SEO MACHINE LTD, a company registered in England & Wales under company number 17545678. You can reach us at [email protected] and we answer within one working day.
We are the data controller for the information described here.
What you give us
Through the start form: your name, email address, the website you want checked, the plan you are interested in and anything you write in the message box. If you subscribe, we also hold the record of your payments — amount, date and the last four digits of the card. We never see or store your full card details; those go directly to our payment provider.
We use this to run your checks, send your reports and reply to you. The lawful basis is performance of our contract with you, and for enquiries that do not become subscriptions, our legitimate interest in answering people who write to us.
The website data we analyse
We fetch and analyse the website you give us, exactly as a search engine does, from outside. That is public information. If you choose to connect Google Search Console, we read your performance data through Google’s own permission system; you can disconnect it at any time, from your Google account or by asking us.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies at all on its public pages: no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, nothing that follows you elsewhere. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Visit statistics
We count visits ourselves, on our own server. No analytics company is involved and nothing is sent to one. For each page view we record the page, the country your connection appears to come from, whether you are on a phone, tablet or desktop, and the domain of the site that linked you — never the full address.
Your IP address is never written to disk. It is used for a fraction of a second to produce a one-way fingerprint, mixed with a secret value and the current date, so the same visitor is counted once per day. Because the date is part of it, that fingerprint changes every midnight and cannot follow you between days or identify you. What we keep are counts, not records of people. If your browser sends a “do not track” signal we do not count the visit at all.
How long we keep things
- Enquiries that do not become subscriptions: deleted within 24 months.
- Subscriber records and reports: for as long as you are a customer, then as long as the law requires us to keep business records.
- Daily visit totals: 180 days, then deleted automatically.
Who else sees it
Our hosting provider stores it on our behalf, our payment provider processes payments, and traffic to this site passes through Cloudflare, which handles connection data in order to serve and protect the site. We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or add you to a marketing list because you contacted us.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to stop, or ask for it in a portable form. Write to [email protected] and we respond within one month. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or to your own national authority if you are in the EU.
